What should occur when an individual is observed to black out or lose consciousness?
Tell them that they should be able to return to the game once they feel better.
When observing a loss of consciousness or any other red flag sign or symptom by a friend/teammate, it is important to inform your friend/teammate to tell the teacher/coach how they feel as well as informing teacher/coach what you observed and what your friend/teammate told you. Procedure for a loss of consciousness or any other red flag sign or symptom is a call to 911 and closely monitoring until EMS arrives.
Stay with your teammate in the change room, and suggest that they takes a painkiller for their headache.
